5 grandi aziende Plastic-free – Di chi si tratta?

Tra i molteplici esempi di grandi gruppi che stanno eliminando o riducendo la plastica monouso all’interno dei propri uffici, abbiamo voluto scegliere 5 grandi aziende. Si tratta di Enel, Philip Morris, Montenegro, Sky e Adidas. Diventato hashtag molto popolare #plasticfree è sempre più diffuso.

Dare un taglio alle plastiche monouso oltre a procurare un notevole risparmio economico migliora l’immagine dell’azienda. Questo grazie alla comunicazione sul proprio sito web, sui social, a comunicati stampa e ad eventi promozionali delle iniziative. Sono nati anche l’elenco del Ministero dell’Ambiente e la piattaforma di Sfridoo per dare visibilità a tutte le realtà Plastic-free. I risultati riferiti a chilogrammi di plastica evitati ed emissioni equivalenti risparmiate possono essere inserite all’interno del bilancio di sostenibilità. Si tratta di un modo davvero efficace per mostrare il proprio impegno in politiche sostenibili.

Spinte da questa nuova consapevolezza, grandi gruppi hanno deciso di intraprendere azioni volte all’eliminazione della plastica monouso nei propri uffici. Andiamo ora a scoprire le 5 grandi aziende Plastic-free che a nostro modo di vedere sono tra gli esempi più significativi.

Enel

In concomitanza con la giornata mondiale dell’ambiente del 5 giugno 2019, Enel ha avviato il proprio processo di eliminazione della plastica monouso da uffici amministrativi e impianti produttivi. Un’operazione che coinvolge circa 26mila dipendenti e che anticipa così l’applicazione della Direttiva europea che prevede il bando della plastica monouso entro il 2021. Il gruppo in una nota dichiara che tale impegno consentirà di ridurre il consumo annuo di circa 128 tonnellate di plastica, pari a 246 tonnellate di CO2, con un risparmio di acqua per 5548 metri cubi e 2,6 GWh di energia.

Verranno eliminate le bottiglie di plastica vendute nei bar e punti ristoro, così come i bicchieri nei distributori automatici e il packaging degli snack. Presso tutte le sedi del gruppo ogni dipendente verrà dotato di una borraccia. Il processo avviato da Enel prevede l’estensione anche verso i fornitori, ai quali sarà richiesta l’eliminazione dell’utilizzo della plastica dagli imballaggi.

 

Montenegro

Il gruppo bolognese ha lanciato un percorso di sostenibilità ambientale sviluppato in più aree aziendali all’interno delle sedi. Il ,progetto targato #PlasticFreeCompany vuole portare all’eliminazione di tutta la plastica monouso utilizzata per il consumo di bevande grazie all’installazione di erogatori collegati alla rete idrica. In questo modo si potrà bere gratuitamente acqua filtrata di ottima qualità. Sono stati forniti bicchieri di carta e borracce in acciaio inox verranno regalate ai collaboratori. I bicchierini e i cucchiaini di plastica delle macchinette del caffè verranno sostituiti con bicchieri di carta, cucchiaini in legno e tazze in ceramica.

La raccolta differenziata è stata potenziata posizionando nuovi contenitori in punti comuni degli uffici e delle aree produttive ed eliminando tutti i cestini di indifferenziato. In questo modo sarà efficientata la raccolta aumentando la quota di materiali destinati al riciclo.

Marco Ferrari, AD del gruppo ha dichiarato: «Abbiamo iniziato a porre le basi di un nuovo percorso che ci porterà ad essere sempre più una ‘Green Company’, dando il via ai primi progetti nell’ambito dei nostri spazi lavorativi. Azioni semplici e concrete perché crediamo che la vera differenza la faccia il nostro agire quotidiano».

 

Philip Morris

Philip Morris Italia ha avviato il proprio progetto Plastic-free presso la sua sede centrale di Roma. L’azienda ha deciso di rimuovere a partire da giugno tutta la plastica monouso come le bottiglie. Puntando a eliminare fino a 428mila oggetti in plastica utilizzati annualmente dai circa 300 dipendenti, l’iniziativa si inserisce in una più ampia strategia dedicata alla sostenibilità ambientale che riguarderà oltre alla sede di Roma, anche quella di Bologna. Ciò a conferma dell’impegno del Gruppo nel ridurre il proprio impatto ambientale.

L’AD di Philip Morris Italia Marco Hannappel, ha dichiarato: “Si tratta in sé di un gesto piccolo ma significativo, che nel corso dell’anno evolverà in ulteriori iniziative specifiche che puntano a ridurre il nostro impatto ambientale“.

 

Sky

Tra le 5 grandi aziende Plastic-free, Sky ha intrapreso già nel 2017 iniziative volte all’eliminazione della plastica, molto in anticipo rispetto alla Direttiva UE. Il gruppo ha cominciato eliminando la plastica che costituisce il packaging dei suoi apparecchi, ma poi ha deciso di estendere il progetto a tutte le sue attività.

Con l’obiettivo di limitare l’impatto ambientale e di ispirare milioni di persone, Sky si è impegnata a rimuovere tutta la plastica monouso dalle proprie attività e dalla catena di forniture entro il 2020. In un anno si sono risparmiati 450mila tra bottigliette, cannucce, bicchieri e posate in plastica. Il personale è stato fornito di borracce riutilizzabili e i servizi di catering sui set hanno eliminato le bottiglie d’acqua di plastica grazie all’installazione di erogatori. Infine, tutti i fornitori sono stati invitati a trovare delle alternative, paventando l’obbligo di adeguarsi al progetto se vogliono continuare a lavorare con Sky.

Adidas

Quando si entra negli uffici Adidas di Saigon in Vietnam, non può sfuggire alla vista l’insegna sulla porta d’ingresso che recita “Ci impegniamo per un ufficio senza plastica”. Da quando nell’ottobre 2017 sono stati trasferiti gli uffici presso la Deutsches Haus, Adidas ha vietato la plastica monouso all’interno dei propri ambienti e ha continuato a impegnarsi per aumentare la consapevolezza del personale sulla sostenibilità.

Gli uffici Adidas Vietnam sono diventati completamente senza plastica vietando ogni soluzione monouso: bottiglie, sacchetti, bicchieri, contenitori per alimenti. Sono stati risparmiati più di 15mila sacchetti di plastica all’anno, anche grazie alluso di borse riutilizzabili per tutti gli acquisti esterni. Erogatori collegati alla rete idrica hanno preso il posto dei boccioni d’acqua e i dipendenti hanno ricevuto in regalo un bicchiere in vetro personalizzato. Inoltre, sono stati sostituiti i singoli cestini dei dipendenti con alcuni centralizzati.

Conclusioni

Queste erano le 5 grandi aziende Plastic-free che abbiamo scelto per rappresentare tutte quei gruppi che negli ultimi mesi hanno deciso di diventare Plastic-free. Non molti, nemmeno tra chi si occupa di implementare progetti di sostenibilità all’interno di grandi aziende, sono davvero consapevoli di quali siano le azioni più efficaci per sostituire la plastica monouso.

Per questo le soluzioni adottate possono non essere le migliori ed essere magari anche criticabili. L’importante è che queste iniziative non finiscano nel green washing. La cosa migliore è sempre optare per soluzioni riutilizzabili che eliminano il monouso anche se dichiarato biodegradabile e compostabile.
